Bike Everywhere Day 2017

Pump up those tires, strap on a helmet, and enjoy a bike ride on Friday, May 19! Bicycling is a wonderful way to commute to/from work and school as well as enjoy and appreciate the beautiful outdoors. The City of Kenmore and Cascade Bicycle Club will be sponsoring a Bike Everywhere Day celebration at 192 Brewery, 7234 NE 175th St. from 4:00—7:00 p.m. for a fun event geared toward bicyclists. The free event is family-friendly and will feature live music, snacks, giveaways, and resources provided by Bothell Ski and Bike and Corpore Sano Physical Therapy.  Located directly on the Burke Gilman trail, bicyclists can easily stop by 192 Brewery for a fun and casual Friday afternoon gathering to mingle with fellow bike commuters.

May has been declared National Bike Month for each of the last 59 years and throughout the month, millions of Washingtonians will experience the joys of bicycling through educational programs, races, commuting events, trail work days, and charity events. The bicycle is a sustainable, multi-modal transportation system and is a healthy, viable, and environmentally friendly transportation alternative.

We will also offer complimentary bicycle helmet fitting and affordable helmets for purchase, for anyone who needs a safety helmet. We offer toddler—adult XL sizes as well as multi-sport helmets for skateboarding or rollerblading.

Kenmore’s Target Zero initiative works to ensure safety throughout the community and hopes to achieve the goal of zero pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities by 2025 by increasing awareness of pedestrian, bicycle, and driver safety issues.
