192nd Culvert - Final Options Analysis

Project Description:192nd Culvert Photo 2
  • Remove existing culvert and replace it with a new fish-passable box culvert;
  • Relocate existing utilities and raise road elevation slightly as needed for utilities clearances;
  • Restore disturbed riparian plantings.


  • Add culvert capacity to eliminate flooding caused by Little Swamp Creek at NE 192nd Street;
  • Remove fish barrier;
  • Reduce erosion at culvert outlet.

Originally budgeted as high-flow bypass with Surface Water funds. The City has secured additional King County Flood Control District grant funding to complete the design and construction of the required fish-passable culvert.
Next Steps:

Begin final design and permitting early 2015.
Construct in the fish window in summer/fall of 2016.
