Skandia Midsommarfest 2019 at St. Edward Park

Skandia Folkdance Society presents Midsommarfest on Sunday, June 30th at Saint Edward State Park.  As one of the most traditional Scandinavian Midsommar celebrations in the Northwest, it is recreated in as authentic a manner as possible.  This family-friendly celebration features a traditional pole-raising ceremony, music and dance performances, kids' activities (including raising a kid-sized pole), flower crowns, craft and food booths, a Nordic costume presentation, and participatory dancing.  The fun begins at 11 am and ends at 6 pm when the pole is lowered at Saint Edward State Park in Kenmore. Admission is free though donations are gratefully accepted to help cover expenses. Parking for festival attendees is also free. However, given construction activity on the Seminary Building, carpooling is strongly encouraged.
