K.E.T. (Kenmore Events Team)
K.E.T. is a team of dedicated volunteers with a passion to keep special events alive and thriving in Kenmore! K.E.T. is currently made up of 7 volunteers: Lonnie Hunt, Justin Shelton, Terry Schuler, Lindsey Hunt, and Cindy Rutstein along with the help of high school interns Nikki Delgado and Nisha Pradhan.
These enthusiastic and hard working volunteers help the City implement the four major events offered in Kenmore each year: 4th of July Celebration, Summer Concert Series (consisting of 6 concerts offered in July and August), Kenmore Play Day (August), and the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival (December). Each member is responsible for a different area of special event production, including marketing, volunteer coordination, event concierge, hospitality, logistics, vendor coordination, parking & security, and entertainment. K.E.T. members often work between 35 – 80 hours per year helping to make Kenmore special events successful.
The City of Kenmore would like to thank these caring and dedicated volunteers for their service and help in making Kenmore a vibrant place to gather, have fun, and enjoy quality family events!
Neil Jorgensen makes a difference in his community! Although a busy family man, he continues to offer his time, talents, enthusiasm, and passion to serve his community.
A Kenmore resident and business owner, Neil strongly believes that residents help shape their community by volunteering and being aware of the needs in their community. He has dedicated many hours each month to help make Kenmore a better place to live, work, and play. He is currently the City’s Adopt a Park/ Street Ambassador which works closely with City staff to engage local citizens, businesses and non-profits in helping to keep Kenmore’s streets and parks clean and inviting. His company, J3 Architects, has adopted a Kenmore street through the Adopt a Street program. Neil is also a member of the City’s Emergency Volunteer Team that will assist the City in responding to a local disaster, and volunteers regularly with park clean up events and special events.
Thank you Neil for being a leader in our community, for caring about your City, and for your years of volunteer service to the City of Kenmore!
A volunteer is a person that enthusiastically gives of their time and their talents to help others. Lonnie Hunt is a volunteer that goes above and beyond to help others no matter the challenges she may face in her own life. She is 100% invested in Kenmore, has lived here for 17 years and seems to know everyone! Lonnie has been a member of the Kenmore Events Team for the past 2 years and is continuing as a KET member in 2015. She has logged about 100 hours as a City volunteer and has helped with special events, park clean- up projects, and office help at City Hall.
Her deep rooted belief in serving her community has apparently rubbed off on her children. Her daughter, Lindsey, also volunteers with the City on the KET team, and her son, Lance “Buddy” Hunt, is now forming events in Kenmore- most recently the popular Hawk Walk Pep Rallys.
Thank you Lonnie for being a beacon of light and service in the Kenmore community!
