How to Submit a Public Records Request (PRR)

All public records requests are forwarded to the Public Records Officer for resolution, regardless of media (walk-in, phone call, e-mail, request form, letter, or any type of correspondence which describes identifiable records being requested). To simplify the process, a request can be submitted by one of the following methods:

• Complete the Online Public Records Request Form, or

• Print and complete a pdf copy of the Public Records Request Form and deliver it via any of the following ways.
  • Drop the form off at the Kenmore City Hall during regular business hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Kenmore City Address is 18120 68th Ave NE, Kenmore, WA 98028
  • Fax the form to (425) 481-3236
  • Email the form to Teresa McAllister, Public Records Officer

City's Response to a Public Records Request

PRR Procedure, Chapter 14 Administrative Policy and Directives

Within 5 business days upon the City receiving a request, the City will contact you by acknowledging receipt of the request and provide notification of one or more of the following (RCW 42.56.520):

• Records available for inspection or copying
• An Internet address and link on the City’s website to the specific records requested
• Provide a reasonable estimate of time the City will require to respond to the request. Additional time is needed to respond in order to:
  
  • Locate, assemble and produce non-exempt records;
  • Notify third persons or agencies affected by the request; and/or
  • Determine whether information requested is exempt.
• Clarification needed for a request that is unclear, and providing, to the greatest extent possible, a reasonable estimate of time the City will require to respond to the request, if it is not clarified; or
• Denial of Request

Cost for Copies

There is no fee for inspecting city records at city hall. If the cost for copies is over $75, a deposit is required.
