City of Kenmore Washington
Home MenuThe Love Where You Live Project was a nearly year long community engagement effort to gather input from community members about their goals and priorities for the future of Kenmore. The feedback received will help shape future projects and initiatives.
Over the summer of 2023, the Love Where You Live Project Phase I community engagement booth was at over 22 events and neighborhood locations collecting community feedback. With an accompanying online survey, over 1,100 initial responses and ideas were collected.
From the engagement booths, the top two themes that emerged were Community spaces and Economic Development. In Phase II of the engagement, the focus was on learning more about these two themes, zeroing in on opportunities for economic development and community spaces in Kenmore’s downtown area and at Lakepointe.
In March 2024, community workshops were held at Kenmore Middle School, the Kenmore Community Club, The Hangar and Moorlands Elementary School. There were approximately 200 attendees overall. Participants were asked to use their hands and found objects to build the future of downtown and Lakepointe on 6 foot long table maps.
There were 550 responses in person, and as well as many online from this engagement.
In addition, two statistically valid surveys were done (Dec 23) and (March 24) with 300 Kenmore residents responding to each.
